South County Ladies Adopt "Ready Golf"
To promote good pace of play, the Committee of The South County Ladies Golf Club is encouraging all ladies to be familiar with and adopt the key principles of "Ready Golf" as outlined below.
"Ready Golf" means Thinking Ahead so that you are Ready to Play when its your turn
i.e. being ready to play.... not playing when you're ready!
On the Tee :
- If the player with the honour is not ready to play, someone else should play away first.
- Alternatively, while maintaining time tee time intervals, if waiting for the group in front to clear, let the shorter hitter go ahead and hit.
On the Fairway :
- Walk to your ball as soon as possible, thinking about your club selection and the shot in advance, not when its your turn.
- Walk down the sides of the fairway to reach your ball and then move in towards the centre to your ball.
- When a playing partner's ball is lost, hit your shot first, then help to look for the lost ball.
- Leave golf bags/carts to the side of the green and on the way to the next tee, never in front of or on the wrong side of the green.
On the Green :
- Line up your putt as soon as you reach the green and before its your turn; putt out immediately instead of marking if you are not on someone else's line (except in matchplay)
Always :
- Carry extra tees and an extra ball in your pocket so you never have to return to your bag when you need them.
- Play a provisional ball if there is a possibility that your ball is lost or out of bounds.
- Keep up with the group in front.
Remember : "Be Prepared and Be Ready to Play" and help everyone to have an enjoyable day....
