Junior Cup : Messages from Team Manager Liz and Lady Captain Carol
From Managers Liz and Sheelagh....
This year saw South County enter the arena in the Junior Cup (handicaps 8 - 15). The team was made up of Evenlyn McGrath, Lady Vice Captain Pauline Curtis, Orla Gibbons, Mary Therese Fitzpatrick, Muriel Walls, Mary Renaghan, Leanne Campbell.
They stormed their way through two very tough rounds against Rathfarnham in Bray and Delgany in Dublin City - formidable opposition on tough courses. After a strong and brave round in Greystones against Craddockstown, they were beaten on the 18th green in the last match.
The South County Ladies Junior Team have earned the respect they deserve and next year will be well remembered for their strength of play.
The extension to the team, was the trusted caddes - without whom no player was complete, namely Sheelagh Stubbs, Angela Murphy, Marie McLoughlin, Ciaran Curtis, Hugh Donnelly and CJim Colfor. A big Thank You to all of you for your time. Thank You too to our Captains, Lady Captain Carol and Captain Mark and to the many others from South County for your support at the various venues. It was greatly appreciated.
We would like to thank on behalf of all the South County Ladies, for their committment to every aspect of being part of the team, especially the many hours of preparation on each course. The team spirit demonstrated by all the members of the team, was envied by all who met them.
Keep playing your terrific golf for the rest of the season. It has been our pleasure to assist you in your Junior Cup endeavours this year.
Regards,
Liz Meade-Flynn and Sheelagh Stubbs

This was the first year that SCLGC was in a position to field a team in the Junior Cup and we are more than pleased to have reached the third round (almost made the quarter finals).
A big clap on the back to the team that played in Greystones on 21st June, and to those who others who played in the earlier rounds, namely Fionnuala Croskerry-Burke, Leanne Campbell and Muriel Walls.
Thank you to Manager Liz Meade-Flynn, for her time, drive, energy, enthusiasm and committment. Thank you also to assistant manager and caddy Sheelagh Stubbs.
Last but not least, thank you to all caddies and supporters.
